Dear media fraternity,
This is to clarify that the screening of the Bollywood film Uri: The Surgical Strike on 15 August 2023 at HSA Campus, Rengkai, Tuiṭhaphai (Churachandpur) was a public screening (as per our earlier press statement “publicly screened”), which was open for the whole general public and not for a selected few.
That the public screening that took place at the HSA Campus occurred in an open public space and should not be equated with exclusive screenings intended for a restricted and invitation-only audience, nor was it intended for revenue generation.
As a result, this event marked the first instance of an open public screening of a Hindi movie in Manipur since the year 2000.
