IMPHAL, May 20: Hmar Students’ Association (HSA), Churachandpur Joint Headquarters has clarified that one Ngurthantluanga Sanate (29) S/o Siemlien of Ngurte village, Churachandpur— who was arrested along with two leaders of HPC (D) by a team of Mizoram police on April 16 from Silchar, is an innocent farmer and has no connection whatsoever with the militant outfit.
At the same time, the outfit has demanded the immediate release of Ngurthantluanga Sanate.
In a statement, HSA, Ccpur Joint Headquarters said that Ngurthantluanga Sanate was arrested along with one, Lalropuia Famhoite, Army Chief of HPC (D) and Norbar Sanate, finance secretary of HPC (D) from Ramnagar, Silchar by a team of Mizoram police on April 16. He was not a cadre of the HPC (D).
Ngurthantluanga Sanate happened to board the same Sumo in which the two HPC leaders travelled and walked along with them at Ramnagar for marketing, the HSA said while adding that accompanying them does not mean that he is a cadre of HPC (D).
The HSA clarified that Ngurthantluanga Sanate never, at any point of time, associated with the HPC (D). He is just an ordinary farmer, staying most of the time at Ngurte village and is engaged in farming.
He is neither a cadre of HPC (D) nor has any connection with the outfit whatsoever, it said while demanding his immediate release.
