COMMEMORATING 100 DAYS OF REFLECTION AND SOLIDARITY: REMEMBERING ATROCITIES AGAINST KUKI-ZO-HMAR TRIBALS

In a somber yet powerful gathering, members of the Kuki-Hmar-Zomi Unau tribes came together today to commemorate the passing of 100 days since the tragic events that marred their lives. The commemoration served as a poignant reminder of the atrocities faced by these communities and the need to stand united against discrimination and violence.

The event was held across Tuiṭhaphai, Lamka (formerly Churachandpur), Parbung, Hmarram and Ankhasuo, Vangai in Pherzawl District, Jiribam District in Manipur; Shillong, Ri Bhoi, Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya, Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Cachar, Hailakandi, Kamrup Metro District, Guwahati and Haflong in Assam, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmednagar, Bangalore, Delhi, Chandigharh and Aizawl, Mizoram. The 100-day commemoration was marked by rally, silent prayer, honouring of frontline volunteers, candlelight vigils, and heartfelt speeches that shed light on the historical wounds suffered by the Kuki-Zo-Hmar tribal people.
